Trailer Of The Day: Django Unchained

Set in the South two years before the Civil War, Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. Honing vital hunting skills, Django remains focused on one goal: finding and rescuing Broomhilda (Kerry Washington), the wife he lost to the slave trade long ago. Django and Schultz’s search ultimately leads them to Calvin Candie (Leonardo DiCaprio), the proprietor of “Candyland,” an infamous plantation. Exploring the compound under false pretenses, Django and Schultz arouse the suspicion of Stephen (Samuel L. Jackson), Candie’s trusted house slave. – Rotten Tomatoes

The First 5 minutes of American Horror Story: Asylum

I cannot wait for October 17th! As uneven as the first season of American Horror Story was, it was also one of the most satisfyingly creepy shows to ever appear on commercial television. And Jessica Lange was all sorts of amazing as the wacked out neighbor from hell so I am really curious to see what she does with the role of a nun from…well also from hell. So click the image to see the video and enjoy bad things happening to the lead singer of Maroon 5. Continue reading The First 5 minutes of American Horror Story: Asylum

The Daily Nerdgasm: Alien T-Rex

The Worst Examples of Cousin Oliver Syndrome in TV Sitcom History

Cousin Oliver Syndrome is the well worn TV sitcom trope of introducing a younger character to the cast of a show in it’s later years as a desperate attempt to add life to a show that had grown a bit long in the tooth. This addition can be successful (like with the addition of Olivia to THE COSBY SHOW) or it can be disastrous like the list that I have put together after the jump. This sitcom trope gets it name from the character introduced in the last season of THE BRADY BUNCH. Cousin Oliver was a horrid addition to the show and never contributed anything of value, instead serving to drive a dagger into the heart of a show that was already on life support. Don’t believe me? Click onward and take a look for yourself.

Shuffling On My iPod: Adele – Skyfall

Being Global James Bond Day it was just fitting that Adele’s title tune for the upcoming Bond film Skyfall would be released today. And unsurprisingly this tune is amazing. This may be the first modern Bond theme that can proudly take its place beside the classic Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones highly dramatic tunes. I don’t think a marriage of current pop star and movie theme fits together any better than Adele and the Bond franchise. Adele – Skyfall Continue reading Shuffling On My iPod: Adele – Skyfall

Lets Cast The Joss Whedon S.H.I.E.L.D. TV Show With Whedon Show Vets

According to the fine folks over at TVLine, this is a casting breakdown of the characters that will make up the Joss Whedon-helmed S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show being spun off from the mega-successful Avengers feature film.
Being the rabid Whedonite that I am, I immediately started picturing Whedonverse actors in the roles.
