Based on this trailer I am not sure if this movie is laughing at or with the RPG crowd. Grown men fully invested in role-playing games are pretty easy targets so I really hope this movie doesn’t go for the cheap and easy laughs but instead aims a bit higher. With this being the first feature film from the crew at The Nerdist I am cautiously optimistic.
I do have to say that Sam Eidson seems to be nailing his part as the slightly off-kilter dungeon master who sees his place in his geeky circle being usurped by a cooler outsider.
