The origin story behind Commissioner James Gordon’s rise to prominence in Gotham City in the years before Batman’s arrival. – IMDb
As much as I am looking forward to this show I am also as apprehensive. The parts of the trailer that focus on a young Jim Gordon embarking on his law career in a Gotham that is corrupt and nearly lawless at the dawn of what is destined to be it’s bizarre future is one that I really am interested in. A show that basically interjects child versions of adult costumed characters like Batman, Catwoman and Poison Ivy is really not something I am all that interested in.
Hopefully the amount of time spent on young Bruce Wayne and young Selina Kyle is only a fraction of the time that is spent on Gordon and the Gotham PD going up against Jada Pinkett’s crime boss is what takes up the bulk of the shows time.
I am pretty stoked by this cast though especially Donal Logue who looks like he was born to play Det. Harvey Bullock and I have become a fan of Ben McKenzie from his time on SOUTHLAND. So space is already being made on my DVR, I am just hoping for this show to be more NYPD BLUE than SMALLVILLE.
The show looks pretty good, but I am nervous 😀
“Batman, Catwoman and Poison Ivy is really not something I am all that interested in.” Same here. I don’t want the tease because it will never go anywhere. This series won’t get to the adult versions so I don’t want it.

Unless they are planning to do time jumps in between seasons (depending on if the show actually makes it out of season one) I don’t see the point of focusing too much on the pre-costumed characters like tween Bruce Wayne and pee-wee Poison Ivy.

Haha its Fox so am not getting invested into this show until it gets a season 2 renewal 😀

That is what has me worried…Fox is not known for allowing shows time to grow anymore.
