This movie looks like it will be as meta as all hell but in this instance I am thinking it might be a good thing. The idea of spoofing a slasher movie is nothing new but the way THE FINAL GIRLS is doing it is pretty original and looks incredibly fun. I also like the cast of young actors and actresses that director Todd Strauss-Schulson (whose biggest credit to date is one of the HAROLD & KUMAR movies) assembled for this movie. Nina Dobrev (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES), Taissa Farmiga (AMERICAN HORROR STORY) and Alia Shawkat (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) are all favorites of mine from their TV work.
I am also seeing good reviews about this one from critics who have seen early screenings of it so my fingers are crossed that it doesn’t disappoint.
