Um…who was looking for a remake of CABIN FEVER? C’mon, people! Raise your hands if you were waiting with bated breath for someone to make a seemingly shot-for-shot remake of the movie that unleashed Eli Roth on an unsuspecting populace. For the life of me I cannot understand why this film exists or why it seems to not be deviating from the 2002 original at all aside from what looks to be about 23% more gun happy rednecks scenes and gender-swapping the clueless sheriff character.
Well at the very least I hope they had the good sense to keep in the wacky Pancakes Kid scene because that was hands down, for me, the absolute best part of the original CABIN FEVER movie. If they can find a way to somehow enhance on that scene’s greatness then this entire affair may not be one gigantic waste of celluloid.
