Gyo tells the story of two teenagers Tadashi and his girlfriend Kaori as they take a holiday in Okinawa. Kaori is a girl with an extremely sensitive nose, and after a row with Tadashi about cleaning his teeth, Kaori is attacked by a fish… on legs.. It would appear, at first, that the two had discovered a new species of fish, that is until the island becomes overrun with legged sea creatures.
