The Good:
Tyler Lautner is a terrible actor but he handled the action scenes (running, jumping, kicking and punching) in this movie pretty well. He’d make a great stunt man.
The Bad:
He makes a convincing action hero but that doesn’t change the fact that Tyler Lautner cannot act. His entire range consists of concentrated beady-eyed staring, heavy breathing and furrowing his brow with as much intensity as he can muster. And his leading lady wasn’t much better. I don’t know Lily Collins from a hole in the wall but I am pretty confident the hole in the wall would be capable of emoting better than she did in this film.
The Ugly:
What the hell were Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, Jason Isaacs, Maria Bello and strategic shots of Dermot Mulroney’s head/face doing in this dog of a movie? Did Bernie Madoff steal their money like he did Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s? And the same thing goes for you Mr. John Singleton….this crap is a far cry from the genuine grittiness of BOYZ IN DA HOOD. You need to do better, fella.
Final Verdict: This was a terrible film that made me feel bad for the veteran, skilled actors that starred in it. The performances by the two leads were wooden and unconvincing and the dialog these characters were spouting was of the level that I would expect from a film in the Andy Sedaris Collection (look them up, they are so stupid and awful that you have to love them).
