Short Shrift Theater: Loom

This short film comes from Luke Scott, son of director Ridley Scott, and it focuses on a lab tech (played by Giovanni Ribisi) at an industrial food corporation who seems to be doing some side genetic engineering in his off hours.

The moodiness of the direction and the laying out of this specific dystopian future are all positives. On the downside the movie takes a bit too long to really get moving along and it ends on a very hamfisted note. The potential is there for a full length film though and this short show that the talent apple didn’t fall far from the talent tree in the Scott family.
