The Good:
All of the characters in PITCH PERFECT are so much more three dimensional than one would assume the characters in this frothy type of a film to be and the performances from the actors all rise to the challenge. Anna Kendricks shines as Becca and Rebel Wilson steals every scene she is in.
I also was amazed to find myself enjoying the musical numbers a lot more than I expected.

The Bad:
The movie tends to lean heavily on formula and as a result the plot becomes very episodic.

The Ugly
While the movie is pretty fun…it is not all that funny (aside from Rebel Wilson) and considering that it is supposed to be a comedy that is not cool.

Final Verdict: A cute little movie that features a nice group of actors playing a quirkier than average bunch of characters in a very paint-by numbers-story. The musical parts are all pretty stellar though so if you were eager to see GLEE done in a way that doesn’t suck, then this movie should be right up your alley.
