The Good:
The time the movie spends with the abducted girl in the trunk of her kidnappers car while he drives her to his den has a nice bit of tension to it.
The Bad:
Oh, where to start? Halle Berry chewed every inch of scenery in this movie like she hadn’t eaten a morsel of food in weeks. And the way she ends up “in the field” is the most contrived bunch of nonsense you are likely to ever see on a movie screen.
This movie also never explains why it looks like a uniformed police officer was the lead cop on the kidnapping investigation. were all of the detectives out of town at a convention or something?
The Ugly
Michael Eklund was the least menacing serial killer ever and he was pretty terrible at it too. Every scene he was in was just dreadfully ridiculous because the viewer was asked to suspend disbelief repeatedly to explain why this guy didn’t get caught by the police 5 minutes into the movie.
Final Verdict: A big dumb movie that never does anything at all useful with the tension it builds up early in the film and instead descends into the most preposterous final act that one could imagine.
Grade: D
Crustula 
It’s a shame to hear that this is such a bad movie considering that Anderson gave us both The Machinist and Session 9.

A combo of bad casting in the kidnapper/killer role and the awfulness effect that Halle Berry brings to any vehicle she is involved in is what doomed it.

I had very little optimism going in but it exceeded my preconceived notions of how bad it would be.

I practically went into this one kicking and screaming (the girlfriend wanted to see it, and I wanted some summer blockbuster equity), but I walked away happy. Maybe I’m using a sliding scale to grade this one because its a WWE movie…

They should have included some of the WWE wrestlers movie (CM Punk would have made a better bad guy) in the movie, maybe they could have saved it.
