Michael Caine‘s inability to mask just how disinterested he was with this entire project is hilarious to me. Now I am a fan of Mr. Caine and consider him to be a great actor but he has stated in interviews that he only took this role because it was basically a chance to get paid an obscene amount of money to vacation in Rio de Janeiro. So that being said he give hardly any effort in this film. Its like he has checked out and is planning what he will do with his time once the director yells cut. There was precisely one scene where he seemed interested and I think that was probably the day that his check cleared:
