The Good:
The scenes between DeNiro and Travolta early in the film where they were having a little bonding moment and sharing some camaraderie were pretty nice despite the barrage of accents (more on those later) and the way the two men kept turning the table on one another made the proceedings a little bit more interesting.

The Bad:
Now about those accents…DeNiro was less of an offender with his cornpone country boy twang (even though it was pretty bad) than Travolta who sounded like he spent his time prepping for this part by watching Rocky & Bullwinkle episodes and repeating “moose and squirrel” over and over again till he sounded like Boris Badenov.
Aside from the distracting accents there was the fact that neither actor was very well suited to their roles or for being cast in an action movie even one like this that attempts to be more.
And for an action movie the action was very mediocre.

The Ugly
That freaky chinstrap beard that Travolta was rocking had to be the most hideous friggin’ thing I have seen in a movie all year.

Final Verdict: An action movie with lofty ambitions to be something more deep and meaningful but fails miserably due to poor action scenes and the miscasting of two powerful actors who are so obviously out of place in this type of film.
