Happy Birthday Corey Feldman!

On this day in 1971, Corey Scott Feldman was born and in his 42 years of life Mr. Feldman has contributed many things to society not the least of which is his wonderful music. So join me in wishing a happy birthday to this talented fella by taking a walk down memory lane at the things in his career that really stand out to me.

He Killed Jason Voorhees…For A While At Least

Corey starred in FRIDAY THE 13th: THE FINAL CHAPTER (yeah right!), which is my absolute favorite installment of the long-running FRIDAY THE 13th franchise. In THE FINAL CHAPTER, Corey played Tommy Jarvis who was a kid with a penchant for the macabre. Tommy lived in the woods near Jason’s stomping grounds and had the misfortune of being dragged into the killer’s hacking and slashing when a bunch of kids moved into the house next door for the weekend to have a party. Tommy was the hero of the film and after using a bit of psychological trickery to confuse Jason, hacked the disfigured killer up into tiny bits.

He is a Frog Brother

Feldman portrayed one of the best sidekicks in movies as Edgar Frog (along with his brother Alan played by Jamison Newlander) in THE LOST BOYS. True the other Corey (Haim that is) got top billing but it was The Frog Brothers that had all the best lines and brought the bulk of the funny to this vampire tale. I am still holding out hope for that syndicated Frog Brothers TV show where Edgar and Alan continue to clumsily stumble their way through life exterminating vampire scum.

He Was A Goonie

If you are any age under 100 then you should be a fan of THE GOONIES and that is pretty much all I have to say on that subject.

He Has A Serious Love For Michael Jackson

Feldman went through a spurt where he dressed liked Michael Jackson and would break out into Jackson-esque dance moves at the drop of a hat. He even incorporated his need to be “Like Mike” into his 1989 movie DREAM A LITTLE DREAM.
