Let’s Take A Moment To Appreciate The Greatness Of Tim Curry

I recently watched a trailer for an abomination called Gingerclown 3D that starred Mr. Curry and I instantly felt horrible that an actor of his awesomeness was appearing in what looked to be the shittiest movie ever made. Then I got to thinking about all of the really great parts that Curry has played and how not all of them were in projects equals to his talents but he still managed to shine in them. The dude just has a talent for turning crap into gold which naturally spurred me to make this list of my Top 5 Favorite Tim Curry Roles!

The 5 Best Moments from the Halloween Trailer

The trailer for the new HALLOWEEN movie has finally arrived and I have to admit that all of my trepidation was washed away almost instantly. I was unsure of just how a new HALLOWEEN movie would be handled by Danny McBride (who I loved as Kenny Powers on EASTBOUND & DOWN but wasn’t the first name I thought of when it came to horror) but if this trailer is any indication, McBride and his partner David Gordon Green have the feel of John Carpenter’s slasher classic down and Jamie Lee Curtis is coming back loaded for bear. So click onward fellow horrorphiles to see what I thought were the top 5 moments gleaned from the trailer.

The 5 Most Important Guys In The Friday the 13th Franchise

Despite being super violent, bloody horror movies that tend to venture into the realm of titillation for the male gaze an awful lot, the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise has really been all about the women. Starting with the first film where the protagonist and the antagonist were both women and then going into the majority of the sequels where Jason Voorhees ultimately would end up doing battle against a Final Girl, women have been the central figures in this film franchise. But that doesn’t mean some fellas haven’t played pivotal roles in the action too. So I have listed under the cut the gentlemen who I think have had the biggest impact on Jason and his bloody library of movies over the years.

2018 OSCARS PREDICTIONS & RUMINATIONS

The Oscars are hitting the big 9-0 this year and tonight’s ceremony should be full of “Me Too” and “Time’s Up!” inspired speeches, lots of barbs thrown at President Trump (especially by host Jimmy Kimmel who is no fan of Mr. Trump) and possibly a repeat of last year’s Best Picture fiasco as, in what seems like a bit of low-key elder abuse, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway have been asked back to announce that award yet again. So read onward for my predictions, my own opinions on who deserves the shiny gold naked man and the folks who got no love from the Academy this year.

My Top 5 Favorite Janet Jackson Acting Roles

On this Superbowl Sunday many are thinking about Janet Jackson because of how unfair she was treated after her Super Bowl XXXVIII while her stage partner Justin Timberlake not only didn’t get a fraction of the ire directed towards him that Janet received but is actually the half-time talent for Super Bowl LII. And as I started thinking about Janet (Miss Jackson if you’re nasty)myself, my thoughts turned to her side gig as a thespian that has spanned over 4 decades and included quite a few performances that I have very fond memories of…so strap in and take a gander at my Top 5 Janet Jackson Acting Performances!

Ranking The Ghostface Kills From Scream 2

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the release of SCREAM 2, the sequel to the movie that kickstarted the 90s horror movie wave, and one of the rare sequels in the horror genre that was actually pretty darn entertaining. So to commemorate the occasion I decided to rank the death scenes in this movie from worst to best.

Friday the 13th Week: Top 5 Friday the 13th Final Girls

***Originally Posted on 6/13/2014***

If there is one thing Jason Voorhees loves almost more than killing everyone he meets it is the ladies. The proof is in the pudding, folks! Jason loves to spend as much time as possible with members of the fairer sex. Sure he gets all stabby and hacky with them but no one is perfect. With that in mind I have put together this list of the best Final Girls to ever come up against Jason and live to tell the tale.

Friday the 13th Week: What The Hell Happened to Paul At the End of Friday the 13th Part 2?

Considered one of the best movies in the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise, Part 2 did a lot of monumental things like killing off original FRIDAY THE 13TH Final Girl Alice, introducing grownup Jason Voorhees (in a snazzy pillow case/potato sack instead of his familiar hockey mask, and presented a mystery that has plagued FRIDAY THE 13TH fans for decades and spurred plenty of questions surrounding the final fate of homogeneously handsome camp counselor/Ginny Field’s boyfriend Paul Holt. Now I have done some investigating and found out all sorts of info about what possibly happened to Paul but even after my sleuthing I still have just as many questions as when I started out.

Friday the 13th Week: 6 Reasons Why The 2009 Friday The 13th Reboot Sucked

***Originally Posted 5/13/2016***
There is a lot not to like about the 2009 FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot, it was awfully written (by a cadre of writers no less) and mundanely directed and had the unmitigated gall to actually have Jason Voorhees running. Running I say!!! Jason doesn’t run; he walks at a brisk pace but that is about it. But those are not even the things that I am most bothered by. So with that in mind I present to the world on this Friday the 13 of May in the year of our Lord 2016 my top 6 reasons for why the FRIDAY THE 13TH Reboot sucked.
