Friday the 13th Week: What The Hell Happened to Paul At the End of Friday the 13th Part 2?

Considered one of the best movies in the FRIDAY THE 13TH franchise, Part 2 did a lot of monumental things like killing off original FRIDAY THE 13TH Final Girl Alice, introducing grownup Jason Voorhees (in a snazzy pillow case/potato sack instead of his familiar hockey mask, and presented a mystery that has plagued FRIDAY THE 13TH fans for decades and spurred plenty of questions surrounding the final fate of homogeneously handsome camp counselor/Ginny Field’s boyfriend Paul Holt. Now I have done some investigating and found out all sorts of info about what possibly happened to Paul but even after my sleuthing I still have just as many questions as when I started out.

SO HERE’S THE SET-UP

Jason has murdered all of the assembled camp counselors except for Ginny and Paul and the twosome get separated after Jason ambushes them in the house. Ginny runs off into the woods and finds herself in Jason’s cabin where Ginny does her epic roleplay as Pamela Voorhees to throw Jason off for a moment; the ruse fails and Jason is about to attack Ginny when Paul jumps him from behind; Jason gets the upper-hand and is about to kill Paul with a pickax giving Ginny the chance to wack Jason with a machete seemingly killing him. Paul and Ginny then go back to one of their cabins thinking Jason is dead. Paul and Ginny hear a noise outside and when Paul goes to check it is only Muffin, one of the dead counselor’s dog. Just then Jason comes crashing through the window and grabs Ginny…the scene then ends.
The next scene is of a disoriented Ginny being wheeled to an ambulance in a stretcher and asking where Paul is but getting no answer from anyone. The scene then shifts to a shot of Mama Voorhees’ decapitated head in Jason’s cabin…then we get the credits.
