Trailer of the Day: Blue Caprice

bc

The striking feature film debut of writer-director Alexandre Moors, BLUE CAPRICE is a harrowing yet restrained psychological thriller about an abandoned boy lured to America into the shadows of a dangerous father figure. Inspired by true events, BLUE CAPRICE investigates the notorious and horrific Beltway sniper attacks from the point of view of the two killers, whose distorted father-son relationship facilitated their long and bloody journey across America. – Source

I still have vivid memories of the DC Sniper killing spree from 2002 and how it had the entire country in the grip of fear and paranoia just based off of how random the shootings were. It amazes me that it has taken this long to get a feature film made of it since the idea of a mad man grooming an apprentice into his insane worldview seems tailor made for a character study. And just from this trailer alone it looks like Isaiah Washington gives a really creepy good performance as John Allen Muhammad.
