In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him. – BBC
The amount of geeking out I am doing after watching these two trailers is totally unhealthy. There is just so much stuff crammed into them! 10 and 11 face to face! A Sonic Screwdriver face-off! Daleks! And lots of ’em! John Hurt being only as cool as John Hurt and that voice of his can possibly be! Clara finally being useful! I am even willing to overlook the inclusion of Rose Tyler just this once because not even she can buzzkill this one. The only thing that would have made this perfect is if they could have somehow convinced Chris Eccleston to come back. Having all of the modern Doctors sharing the screen would have been epic.
And in these two trailers I really have come to realize how much I have missed David Tennant as The Doctor. I enjoy Matt Smith’s Doctor immensely but he pales in comparison to Tennant and the effortless high energy with a hint of darkness floating underneath that he brought to the role. Can’t wait till the 23rd of November.
