Synopsis:If the worst day of your life consisted of accidentally killing your girlfriend with an axe, chain-sawing your own arm off, and watching in horror as your closest friends were devoured by a zombified Nazi battalion, you’d have to assume that things couldn’t get much worse. In Martin’s case, that was only the beginning. – (Source)
The decision to go more tongue-in-cheek with the sequel than the original was a brilliant one. This subject matter is totally absurd and embracing that absurdity only served to make watching this a treat.
I also loved the addition of the American zombie hunter team that was made up of a bunch of genre geeks. I could see a really spiffy spin-off movie featuring this trio battling zombies in different settings.
While the zombie make-up was serviceable it really would have behooved the makers of this film to shoot all of the zombie heavy scenes at night. Having a full-blown Nazi Zombie vs Russian Zombie brawl in broad daylight only served to highlight that this movie’s make-up was not the movie magic.
Human/zombie coitus is not appealing at all. No bueno, sir. No bueno.
Final Verdict: An over the top, gleefully violent comedy horror treat that doesn’t take itself seriously at all. A few flaws here and there but they are very easily dismissed by the joyous amounts of carnage that gets released.
