Doctor Who Needs More Time Lords

The Rani

the-rani
Who? An acquaintance of both The Doctor and The Master back on their home planet of Gallifrey, The Rani is pretty demented. She has no real moral compass and she isn’t into power or glory. Her raison d’être is her warped scientific curiosity. The universe is The Rani’s lab and everything in it is a potential test subject.

The last we saw of The Rani she was trying to pull off some ridiculously complicated scheme to collect all of The Doctor’s past selves to do something nefarious with them (it was really goofy and made little to no sense) but she got the tables turned on her by the 6th Doctor and fell victim to her own trap. The return of The Rani would be great because she is completely without any moral compass and considers herself The Doctor’s intellectual superior and she really doesn’t feel anything but contempt for The Doctor so she would be unlike The Master who has such complicated (almost familial) pangs of emotion where the Doctor is concerned.
Casting Suggestions: Gillian Anderson (THE X-FILES)/Thandie Newton (BELOVED)/Michelle Fairley (GAME OF THRONES)

  1. Omega scared the $*~£ out of me as a kid, Now with the Time Lords back there is a good chance they will find a few baddies, The Rani (Kate O’Mara sadly missed) and oh so many more

    1. I loved Omega and his megalomania. He was a really great baddie.

And the Rani was great because she was played with such awesome 80s high camp by Kate O’Mara. it was like Alexis from Dynasty was revealed to be an evil Time Lady.
      Thanks for commenting, btw!
