Will Win: Richard Linklater
Whether you loved or hated BOYHOOD the one thing you can’t deny is that it is a monumental achievement in directing. For Linklater to accomplish what he did over the course of a decade is the type of thing that we won’t see ever again and I don’t think any of the other nominees even came close to matching what he did.
Should Win: Richard Linklater
What? Did you think I was making up all that crap I just posted? This is Linklater’s award to lose.
Got Robbed: Ava Duvernay (SELMA) and Christopher Nolan (INTERSTELLAR)
I already posted my thoughts on the Duvernay snub HERE. As for Nolan, if you can’t recognize the amount of work that went into his sci-fi extravaganza, INTERSTELLAR then I don’t know what to say to you. Sure it was a bit on the cold and sterile side but it was a visual masterpiece.
