The Good:
The opening scenes showing The Minions travails through history from the dawn of time to the 1960s was wonderful.
I defy anyone to not just love these yellow, gibberish spewing goobers to pieces as they get into all manner of ridiculous hijinks. And Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm were a hoot as the villainous Overkills.
I also liked all the little cameo appearances by DESPICABLE ME characters in their younger days.

The Bad:
The actual story of the film kinda came apart at the seams at the end not that it really mattered all that much in the grand scheme of things.

minions2
The Ugly:
I really don’t think the monarchy works the way this movie thinks it does.

Final Verdict: I enjoy the animated fare that tugs at the heartstrings and delivers a wonderful message of some sort but I also really love it when an animated movie eschews most of that and just strives to be an energetic slapsticky comedy. And this movie delivers that in spades.

Grade: B
