The Good:
This movie succeeds (when it does succeed) solely on the strength of Key and Peele’s comedic chemistry and innate likability. Even when things on the screen make you want to groan you still find yourself liking what’s happening just because those two guys sincerely are trying to be as funny as they can in order to entertain.
And this movie features the most charismatic kitty cat in the history of major motion pictures.
The Bad:
There are moments where you get the nagging feeling that you are watching an overlong skit on a sketch show. And at its core the film is super flimsy in terms of story.
The Ugly:
The whole swerve with the undercover cop reveal was the most ridiculous part of a completely ridiculous movie.
Final Verdict: Veers dangerously close to crossing the line from entertaining to annoying but luckily the comedy duo manages to inject enough of their infectious comedic exuberance into the film to avoid disaster. Plus that kitten is cute as all heck.
Grade: C+
