While watching this trailer I kept waiting for the comedic scenes since this movie is “from the mind” of Jordan Peel (one half of the Key & Peele comedy team with Keegan-Michael Key) but the funny never came. Instead the trailer just kept creeping me out the more it ran and by the end of it I was more unnerved by what I had just seen than I can recall being by any trailer (or full movie to be honest) in quite a while.

I am shocked mostly by the idea that this came from Jordan Peele because I really only relate his name with truly absurd comedy so for him to have come up with something that looks to have the potential to be a top notch horror movie is totally surprising. The theme of the film is super creepy (my first thought was that it was a take on REVENGE OF THE STEPFORD WIVES with black people replacing suburban housewives), the racial undertones are super topical and timely and the assembled cast is really impressive. I have been a fan of Daniel Kaluuya since SKINS so it’s really cool to see him get a chance to be the lead in a Hollywood film.
