As host of his own hit TV series, ‘MAN VS’, Doug Woods is forced to fend for himself for five days in remote locations with no crew, food, or water, only the cameras he carries on his back to film his experiences. Doug’s in the remote woods for a routine episode, until he’s awoken by an earth-shaking crash. Things get weirder as it becomes clear Doug isn’t alone. Someone or something is watching him. MAN VS is a gripping ‘found footage’ thriller about one man’s extraordinary desire to survive at all costs. – (Source)

The Good:
Director Adam Massey builds up nice suspense as we watched out wilderness expert Doug get toyed with by an unseen entity. Seeing how the survivalist tricks Doug demonstrates for his audience are then used against him and the rest of the crew was a nice touch.
I also liked the reveal at the end that Doug’s personal struggle was also happening on a grander scale around the world.
The Bad:
Once Doug comes face to face with his wilderness rival the movie loses most of the charm it has and becomes just a low budget rip off of PREDATOR. Its like the movie really didn’t know what to do with itself once it had to stop being a cat & mouse game.
The Ugly:
The alien design was awful. Instead of being a scary reveal it made me mockingly laugh at just how crappy it was.
Final Verdict: If you have ever wondered just what an encounter between Bear Grylls and the alien from PREDATOR would turn out then this is the film for you. Oddly enough the movie fares much better when the director was tasked with making nothing be scary but once the alien is revealed the film loses its way until its twist ending.
Grade: C
