Good, Bad & Ugly Review: Intruders

Rotten Tomatoes Rating: 33% (Critics) / 25% (Audience)
Directed By: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo
Written By: Nicolás Casariego and Jaime Marques
Starring: Clive Owen, Carice van Houten and Izán Corchero
Studio: Millennium Entertainment

Synopsis: Two children living in different countries are visited nightly by a faceless being who wants to take possession of them. (Source)

The Good:
The film’s opening was really well done. It raised the tension levels and had me truly worried about the fate of Juan and his mother. Both of the child actors at the center of this movie were also very good.

The Bad:
Aside from the opening sequence this movie was a colossal turd that barely held my attention.

The Ugly:
Clive Owen needs to get a new agent.

Final Verdict: A muddled and confusing mess of a movie that seemed to be based on a pretty solid idea but in the execution was a massive failure. The scares were nonexistent; aside from the opening sequence of the film, the levels of tension were at constant flatline and the only things that impressed me about the entire movie were the performances of the two principle child actors.
