Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones is an upcoming spin-off to the Paranormal Activity series, being described as a “cousin” to the series. The film will be released in January 3rd, 2014 and will be written and directed by Christopher Landon, who wrote the screenplay for Paranormal Activity 4, which featured hints on the film’s storyline. – Rotten Tomatoes

I have been fooled repeatedly by the trailers for these Paranormal Activity movies. the trailers always make them look super scary with nonstop thrills and chills but in reality the movies are usually an hour of chairs moving and doors closing with 15 minutes of action. But that knowledge does not stop me from being excited for this spinoff to the film franchise that focuses on Latino characters in the rough and tumble city of Oxnard, CA being haunted and possessed by some demonic entity. Like previous PA trailers this one if full of action that I am sure is totally misleading but I will still be there on opening day hoping against hope that this will finally be the movie in this franchise that delivers on the promise.
I am nothing if not an eternal optimist.
