In recent interviewers, big time Hollywood stars Al Pacino, Denzel Washington, Jessica Chastain and Benedict Cumberbatch were all asked about being cast in a big screen comic book movie (with Cumberbatch actually being rumored to have a role in the upcoming BATMAN V SUPERMAN movie) so I began to wonder just which characters these stars would be perfect to play on the big screen.

Jessica Chastain as Batwoman

Physically there is no question that Chastain would be perfect for the role of Batwoman/Bette Kane. She is a porcelain skinned redhead just like the comic book crime fighter so visually there would be no need to make any changes to her appearance. But Chastain is also a powerhouse actress which would be perfect to play the very emotionally complex backstory of Batwoman, the first lesbian character to headline her own solo comic book series. Plus it would cover Chastain’s requirement of being a character that “kick’s butt” since Batwoman kick’s butt like no other.
