The Good:
I love the over-the-top nature of the stunts in this movie. Each one was more ridiculous ostentatious than the one that came before and all of them were extremely well done.
The casts easy chemistry also went over very well with me. At this point in this franchise it is like spending a couple hours watching old friends drive fast cars and blow up stuff.
Including Jason Statham as the villain of the film was a great idea. The guy pulls off menacing like it is second nature. he should look at playing the bad guy more often.
And the handling of Paul Walker’s swan song from the franchise was handled in a far more moving way than I ever expected a FAST & FURIOUS film to ever be able to do.

f7-3
The Bad:
While the big action scenes are bombastic and fun the smaller fight scenes are a bit of a mess with director James Wan shooting them like he was filming a music video for people with ADD.

f7-2
The Ugly
I spent the entire film trying to figure out which scenes featured Paul Walker and which scenes either were CGI Walker or Walker’s lookalike brother. It sounds incredibly morbid but I really couldn’t help myself.

f7-1
Final Verdict: It may not be summer yet but FURIOUS 7 is the definition of the type of mindless popcorn movies that make going to the cinema during the summer so enjoyable. Sure it had some rough spots but you know what to expect in one of these types of films and it delivers.

Grade: B
