The Good:
Well, the folks behind this film somehow were able to pull together a pretty nice cast of actors…not sure exactly how they did it short of blackmail and threats though.

The Bad:
Of course this crapfest totally wastes the really good cast.
As for the film itself, for a movie about a bunch of scientists they sure did behave like idiots. All of their decisions made no sense at all.
But then, none of this movie made any sense at all. It starts out as a science gone awry tale and then makes a hard left turn into demonic possession territory yet never seems comfortable in either realm.
And Olivia Wilde’s character was just a mess. She was 1 part Carrie White, 1 part Freddy Krueger, 1 part Regan MacNeil and none of the parts came together to make a compelling horror villain.
And killing the black guy first was a really lazy move. I thought we had collectively moved past that particular horror movie trope or at the very least would only do it with tongue placed firmly in cheek.

The Ugly:
Death by choking on an electric cigarette though? Really? Whoever came up with that method of murder this gif’s for you:
you-are-so-dumb
Do better next time, people!!!

Final Verdict: This movie was just dumb. And awful. Awfully dumb is a perfect description. Just awfully dumb and terrible in every way.

Grade: F
