Ever wonder what some of Will Ferrell’s best known characters would look like as women? Yeah, me neither. But that thought did occur to some pretty innovative cosplayers who decided to Rule 63 a whole gang of Ferrell characters from Ricky Bobby to Jacobim Mugatu.
What would you call the gender swapped version of Chucky anyway? Charlotte? Maybe Charli?

Who knew people cosplayed as professional wrestlers? I have been to several conventions and never seen anyone dressed as a wrestler. The only time I see people even looking mildly like wrestlers is at an actual pro wrestling event and even then it doesn’t get to the level of full-on cosplay (except for Jeff Hardy fans who really go all out to look like him). Be that as it may, this week sees a few lovely lasses all done up to look like the currently retired Straight Edge Superstar.
I came across this week’s cosplay while perusing Reddit…it is not the Ash and Misty that I recall my nephew watching on weekdays after school that is for sure.
I think it is safe to say that the FRIDAY THE 13TH series of movies would have been wildly different if Jason (would it have been Jasmine instead?) Voorhees had looked like this week’s cosplayer.
This may be the most inventive example of a gender switch in the realm of cosplay. Major league cosplayer Nona Neon Cosplay pulled a Rule 63 on the uber-masculine lead giant robot Gipsy Danger from last summer’s Giant Robots vs Kaiju movie, PACIFIC RIM.
This installment of gender bending cosplay focuses on a feminine version of Captain America’s arch-nemesis The Red Skull. The kicker for this cosply is that she made sure to fashion a Cosmic Cube because if there is one thing Red Skull loves more than fascism and swastikas it is a reality warping cube of energy.
Anyone who spent many hours back in the day playing Street Fighter have somewhat fond memories of the original one-eyed, Muay Thai fighting boss character Sagat. He was a bit of a pin in the butt as a boss but later on he became a playable character that I actually used to like to play as…his Muay Thai skills were quite spiffy. So this installment of gender swapped cosplay features cosplay vet Miss Sinister as she pulls off Sagat’s bald head and eye patch with pizzazz.

This week we get a really cool version of Lady Spawn that is yet another character that I would have never thought anyone would do a gender switch on. But cosplayer Cat Huntress pulls it off in style.

It is when I see cosplay like this that I feel pride in geekdom as a whole. Nobody would think to dress up as Ricardo Montalban’s Khan from STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN nowadays (especially not with Benedict Cumberbatch’s version of the character being so fresh on the mind) and to gender swap it is even cooler. Plus this young lady’s costume came with an ear slug. Bonus points for that.

This week’s Rule 63 cosplay is a bit outside the box. You don’t see many people cosplaying as Speed Racer which is a shame because I really used to love the old show (the movie from a few years ago not so much) and the subject of this week’s Rule 63 pulls off the spirit of the character very well.

I was shocked by how many folks have donned gender swapped Han and Leia costumes. And the dudes dressed as Leia just get more appalling with each cosplay example.
