Reason #3 That It Rocks: The Kids Are Alright But the Parents Are A Mess

Why are the only parents shown in this film so age inappropriate? Morgan’s parents look like they decided to hold off on having kids until late in life and Frankie’s dad looks more like he should be her grandfather.
And speaking of Morgan’s dad…he was responsible for two of the best scenes in this movie. In the first scene, Mr. Hiller gives Morgan one of the most ridiculous bits of nonsensical combination pep talk/life lessons I have ever seen.

In the other, Mr. Hiller shows that, even at the ripe old age of 73, he still is chock full of piss and vinegar by singlehandedly opening a can of whoop ass on three teenage toughs. He was handing out such a sufficient beating on those disrespectful young whippersnappers that they felt the need to pump him full of lead to stop his Metamucil feuled onslaught.
