This Zod-centric trailer gives us a more clear view of exactly what the main plot of this movie is going to be while also displaying tons of action and making it clear that Michael Shannon’s Zod is going to have none of the campy haughtiness of Terrence Stamp’s Zod from SUPERMAN 2. He is all rage and malice and I am loving what I see of Shannon’s portrayal of the character.
I think this is the perfect capper to the series of trailers that the folks behind MAN OF STEEL have released. It has been a nice build up to this one with the early trailers focusing on the introspective nature of the Superman character and his search for his place in the world leading up to this balls to the wall alien invasion stuff. I was ridiculously excited for this movie from the moment it was first announced but right now my eagerness to see it has reached epic levels.
