My 5 Unpopular Lost Opinions

I Hated Sawyer Until He Went Back In Time

sawyer
Sawyer was a dick and while the rest of the world was enamored with his sarcastic attitude and bad boy ways I just thought he was a useless load who was taking up time on my screen that would have been better served focusing on Sayid, Locke or Jack. And the triangle between Sayer/Kate/Jack was the biggest “I don’t give a shit” portion of this show for me. While I had no real dog in the fight, I at least was able to tolerate Kate when she was with Jack. And Sawyer/Kate as a couple just made my already elevated dislike of the Sawyer character go into supernova.
So imagine my surprise when Sawyer and a few other castaways got transported back to 1974. Stuck in the past, Sawyer got a job with the Dharma Initiative, started playing house with Juliet and became best pals with Miles (one of my favorite new additions to the LOST cast regardless of the timeline). Away from the specter of the triangle and in a relationship with Juliet (a character that I always liked) made Sawyer much easier to take for me. And even more surprising was how much I enjoyed Sawyer in the alternate timeline where he was now an L.A. detective who was partnered with Miles. These two versions of Sawyer really worked for me and I no longer had a strong inclination to throw things at my TV whenever he came on the screen.

    1. I never liked that character…he just annoyed me from day one. But that is the great thing about shows like this with large casts, everyone has their faves and those they dislike.

Thanks for stopping by and posting!
