Vin Diesel (an admitted big comics fan) admitted a few weeks ago that Marvel requested a meeting with him but didn’t offer any more info as to just what that meeting was about. Of course minds began racing about which Marvel movie franchise would the star of THE FAST & THE FURIOUS films be involved in with everything from the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy to Black panther being tossed out there by speculative fans and reporters.
Then Diesel posted the above image along with this message on his Facebook page:

Marvel meeting today… Only the people in the room can tell you what was discussed…P.s. Thanks to Our page, for pushing to make it happen… you know I get tunnel vision with my work… and after that meeting today… wow!

So just what was the meeting about? Who could Diesel be playing and in which movie? I decided to let my mind race and come up with a few possibilities.

1. THE VISION

The Vision is a favorite of Diesel’s and he has made it known on other occasions that he would love to play the character in a movie. Plus his comment about “tunnel vision” could possibly be a clue that Diesel will be appearing in an upcoming Avengers film as the heroic synthezoid.

2. GIANT MAN

Was Diesel’s posing in front of a picture of Avengers #2 a clue as to who he would be playing? HERE is the full cover and as you can see the characters shown are Thor and Iron Man (already cast), The Wasp (I am pretty sure that one is not a possibility)…which leaves Giant Man. Could Diesel be getting cast as Dr. Henry Pym the multiple identitied Avenger? Hank Pym has been Ant-Man, Goliath, Yellowjacket, Dr. Pym and Giant Man in his career and is a founding Avenger in the comics. The guy is a troubled brainy scientist type which really is not what I think of when I think Vin Diesel so I really doubt that is who Diesel would play in an Avengers film. I would believe he was cast as The Space Phantom (the bad guy oin the cover) before Giant Man unless Joss Whedon plans on taking the character in a very different direction than in the comics.

3. THANOS

At the end of the first Avengers film audiences got a glimpse of Thanos the Mad Titan in the after credits scene and we still have not heard a thing about who will be filling that role (whether voice only or motion capture) and it wouldn’t shock me if Diesel was going to get the call. He has a very distinctive voice that would lend a nice bit of malevolence to the character and has proven that he can pull off the physicality of a character that would be capable of going toe to toe with The Hulk and Thor.
