Director Adi Shankar follows up his really cool Punisher short film with another gritty take on a Marvel Comics character. This time he focuses his lens on Eddie Brock or as he is better known, Venom.

The movie is done as an homage to the Belgian dark comedy MAN BITES DOG (wherein a documentary film crew follows a serial killer as he commits his heinous crimes) and that stylistic choice works well here. Most of that is due to TRUE BLOOD star Ryan Kwanten who plays Eddie Brock as a man teetering on the edge and you can see that the slightest breeze is all it will take to push him over. This film also features a great cameo at the end by one of my favorite Marvel Comics bad guys. And the 80’s soundtrack is killer.
