Trailer of the Day: I, Frankenstein

ifrankenstein

Set in a dystopic present where vigilant gargoyles and ferocious demons rage in a battle for ultimate power, Victor Frankenstein’s creation Adam (Aaron Eckhart) finds himself caught in the middle as both sides race to discover the secret to his immortality. From the creators of the hit supernatural saga, UNDERWORLD, comes the action thriller I, FRANKENSTEIN, written for the screen and directed by Stuart Beattie based on the graphic novel “I, Frankenstein” by Kevin Grevioux, and brought to life by a cast that includes Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy, Yvonne Strahovski, Miranda Otto, Jai Courtney, Socratis Otto, Mahesh Jadu, Caitlin Stasey and Aden Young as Victor Frankenstein. – Rotten Tomatoes

This trailer is so odd to me. Skip the whole concept of Frankenstein’s Monster stuck in the middle of a war between demons and gargoyle’s which is bizarre enough but thefact that it stars Aaron Eckhart is the most about confounding thing about I, FRANKENSTEIN. Eckhart is one of the last names I would expect to see starring in a movie like this that looks like a cross between UNDERWORLD and LEGION with all of the directing flourishes that are synonymous with the likes of Paul W.S. Anderson. I would expect this to be a a Thomas Jane starrer but not Eckhart.
