Surprise With Jenny McCarthy
Surprise with Jenny McCarthy was an attempt at a U.S. version of the British show Surprise, Surprise. The British show has been on the air in one form or another since 1984 and is a hybrid variety, reality and candid camera show. The British version of this show is hosted by Cilla Black, a showbiz institution in the UK who has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years with chart-topping music and various TV shows. Jenny McCarthy who is quite possibly the most annoying and untalented woman to ever have a career was chosen to host the U.S. version. Why can’t American audiences have nice things, NBC? Sure she’s hot but she is obnoxious, unfunny and has a personality that drives me to want to stab myself in the head with a rusty corkscrew. Obviously the folks behind Surprise were fooled by the imagery of Jenny McCarthy and that is why they hired her as the host of this show but unlike her picture in Playboy the real life Jenny actually talks. A lot. It’s like she is physically incapable of shutting up and nothing that comes out of her mouth is interesting in the least. So a chattering bobble head of a woman hosting a variety show is a recipe for disaster and the kindhearted executives in charge at NBC realized the mistake they made and quickly pulled the plug on this show that would have possibly been the worst show to ever air in the history of television. And it all would have been the fault of that annoying bundle of big hair, silicone and bad personality known as Jenny McCarthy.

Why was the IT Crowd remake shot for shot the same show?
