TV Shows So Bad They Were Cancelled Before Airing One Episode

Wonder Woman

For some reason beyond my comprehension the brain trust over at Warner brothers decided that the best way to go about bringing the iconic DC Comics character of Wonder Woman back to the small screen after an absence of 30 years was to allow superstar TV writer and producer David E. Kelly to re-imagine the character as Ally McBeal with super-powers. As played by Adrienne Palicki, by day Diana Themyscira (yep, that is the name they went with) ran her own corporation and by night she put on the ugliest version of the Wonder Woman costume I have ever seen to fight crime and make constant fart smelling faces. She also had a third persona as Diana Prince where she would wear some glasses, put her hair in a ponytail and sit on her couch watching romance movies with her cat. It was everything that any self-respecting comic book fan desperately wanted this show not to be.

Palicki was a bad casting choice, Kelly was a bad creator choice, and the script for this disaster was just embarrassing. Fan backlash from the initial details of the content of the show as well as the early pictures of the costume coupled with horrific reviews from TV critics who had seen the pilot was all it took for NBC to realize that there was a reason why all the other networks (including the CW that is co-owned by Warner) passed on this show.
