I did a post a while ago listing The Top 10 Douchebag Villains from 80s Teen Movies and as I was looking back on that list I came to the realization that a lot of times the villains were pretty justified in their awful behavior based on the supposed “hero” of the movies they were featured in. Some of those 80s teen movie heroes were absolutely terrible people who deserved to have their girlfriends stolen, hearts broken or be smacked around a bit. So with that in mind I put together a list of the Top 5 Douchebag Heroes from 80s Teen Movies.

5. Patrick Dempsey (Ronald Miller), CAN’T BUY ME LOVE

Ronnie Miller was a nerd who was not content with his nerdy life and nerdy friends so he paid, Cindy, the most popular girl in school to give him a make-over and pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. Ronnie then let his newly bought popularity go to his head and not only kicked his old nerdy friends to the curb but screwed over Cindy in a bid to become even more popular. Ronnie was an asshole and he was always an asshole. Even the big mea culpa moment at the end of CAN’T BUY ME LOVE after Ronnie lost both his nerd and cool friends and then bridged the gap between those two worlds with a sappy speech fell flat because Ronnie still came off like the entitled asshole he was when he was a nobody.
