2. Blane McDonnagh (Andrew McCarthy), PRETTY IN PINK

I have to be completely honest here, I have serious issues with Andrew McCarthy’s face in PRETTY IN PINK and that is why he is on this list. He was in a constant slack-jawed rat-face expression and I think it really reached it’s apex of annoyance when you add that face with such a spineless non-entity like Blane. Of course having to share scenes with (and be completely overshadowed by) James Spader’s amazing future cult leader Steff McKee would be a daunting task for any actor but it was just an exercise in futility for the limited McCarthy. Andie really should have picked Ducky.

The 80s was a weird old decade, wasn’t it?

It was indeed…and I love it death.

So totally agree with Blane. What the heck does Andy see in him? I know we all want to think the best of our friends, and I’m sure he saw the few good qualities they had, but was he totally clueless? Hate him.
