Favorite New Who Spinoff: The Sarah Jane Adventures

From the ‘School Reunion’ episode we fans were given the gift of this more kid-friendly spin-off. In it Sarah Jane Smith investigated extra-terrestrial weirdness on earth with her adopted alien hybrid son and his friends. The show was fun and light but never cloying or insulting to the intelligence of any of its audience regardless of their ages. Liz Sladen was radiant in her defining role and all of the child actors were well cast. To this day I am still hoping to see Clyde and Rani make an appearance on DOCTOR WHO. the show was cut short by Sladen’s untimely death but I still pull out my episodes of the show because if ever I am down in the dumps nothing gets me back in a good mood like watching Sarah Jane and her sidekicks in action.
