Sad news for horror fans everywhere with the news today that Betsy Palmer passed away over the weekend. Palmer is most well known as the original Pamela Voorhies in the very first FRIDAY THE 13th movie but she had a long career on stage and screen that spanned six decades.

So in honor of the late Ms Palmer I thought I would share a pretty interesting video of her discussing how she came to play the role she is most associated with. It is a humorous story that involves late night car troubles and Palmer’s initial distaste for the horror movie genre.

Man, I love listening to old Hollywood actors discussing the business no matter how big or small their level of fame may have been. And her going into how she got into the head of the character of Pamela Voorhees is pretty cool. You can see the entire video HERE and I think it is well worth the watch. Palmer was a cool old dame and she will be missed.
