Uncle Ruckus The Movie

ruckus1
I am a huge fan of The Boondocks cartoon that airs on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim about every 15 years (where the heck is the new season, guys?) and I have always had a sneaking suspicion that creator Aaron McGruder would try and get his characters into a feature length film but I never thought that the first character to make the jump would be the self-hating racist Uncle Ruckus. And I definitely didn’t think it would be in a live action movie. McGruder has a Kickstarter in place to try and get funding for the film and has a sort of trailer featuring Gary Anthony Williams (who voices Ruckus on the TV show) in full Uncle Ruckus regalia. Be warned though…if you are easily offended then this is not the stuff for you.

Cast A Star Wars Reboot Using Bad Robot TV Show Alums

BadRobotStarWars1
From the moment I first read about JJ Abrams snagging the director’s gig for the STAR WARS franchise, I immediately started thinking about what a Abrams style reboot of George Lucas’ universe would be like. Then I started thinking about who would get cast for the iconic roles. And then I started thinking that everyone with a blog on the Internet was probably thinking the same thing. So I started thinking about what a rebooted STAR WARS cast would look like if all of the characters were being portrayed by veterans of Abrams’ Bad Robot produced TV series.
And that is how we got to this point in the space time continuum, folks.

Trailer of the Day: Knights of Badassdom

kob

A geeky group of Live Action Role Players (LARP) must summon their inner heroes when one of them inadvertently summons a sexy succubus with diabolical intentions. Deeply depressed following his messy break-up with Beth (Margarita Levieva) forlorn metal-head Joe (Ryan Kwanten) is abducted by his fantasy-prone roommates (Peter Dinklage, and Steve Zahn) and inducted into the world of LARP – where imaginative gamers assume the roles of knights, wizards, and maidens. As foam swords are drawn and cardboard battle-axes clash, Joe finds himself starting to have a good time when one of his roommates – a would-be sorcerer – casts a spell that actually works. Now, a cruel succubus has crossed into our reality, and she’s claiming the lonely LARPers one-by-one. To make matters worse, she’s assumed the form of Beth, which makes her nearly irresistible to Joe. With the evil strengthening and the body count rising, Joe and his roommates realize that in order to stop the seductive demon, they must cast aside their fake weapons, and summon the courage to fight a force of pure evil. – Rotten Tomatoes

The Lowest Grossing Movie of 2012

jxmovie
According to Box Office Mojo, The Ghastly Love of Johnny X was the lowest grossing film of 2012 bringing in a paltry $86 on its opening weekend and ending up with just a total of $117 during its run in one theater last year. I personally don’t see why it crashed and burned since a peek at the trailer showed glimpses of “so bad it’s good” awesomeness. There were musical numbers, aliens, a zombie rock star (portrayed by Creed from The Office), bad girls with switch blades, and Paul Williams! What’s not to like about all of that?

Pacific Rim Is My 2nd Most Anticipated Movie of 2013

pacrim
I am geeking out for this movie! Giant Robots piloted by humans as they fight against giant monsters…anyone else immediately think that this is just Voltron (the version with the space cars not the cats) under a different name? Not that there is anything wrong with that mind you. The premise for Pacific Rim is just ridiculously cool, it has a very appealing cast and it is from the mind of Guillermo del Toro. If Man of Steel wasn’t coming out in the same year I would be majorly obsessed with this movie above all others.
So here I have gathered all of the goodies I have found across the Internetz pertaining to Pacific Rim in one place from the trailer to the viral vids to the promo images.
