The Final Girl by which all others are measured. In Laurie Strode all of the unofficial rules of the Final Girl are established: she’s not a slut, she’s not a bitch, she’s utterly relatable and makes the viewer want to see her survive. True she does need saving somewhat in the first two HALLOWEEN films but there is no doubt that Laurie is a fighter especially when called upon to protect others from Michael’s rampage. And she gets in enough shots on Michael Myers to make him take notice of her as an adversary instead of just another victim. The apex of their battles came in H20 with Laurie opening up a serious can of whoop ass on her brother.
