#6 – THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY

The Partridge Family has to be on the list just for their sheer awesomeness but they only come in at number six due to their being an actual singing group that is supposed to be singing as opposed to just members of the cast singing for whatever contrived reason the writers could think up. Plus they had to get a nod for the song they perform in the posted video…its from an episode where The Partridge Family make a wrong turn at Albuquerque ending up in the sitcom sanitized version of the ghetto where they go about helping a sitcom sanitized version of the Black Panthers (led by Louis Gossett Jr and Richard Pryor no less) raise money to save something ion the neighborhood that I can’t really remember. David Cassidy and Shirley Jones working their asses off singing what I’m sure they considered a very soulful tune is a beautiful thing.
