The Greatest Sitcom Singing Groups Of All Time

#5 – THE LUBBOCK BABES

The Lubbock Babes are from a short-lived show called JUST THE TEN OF US (it was a GROWING PAINS spin-off if you can believe that) about Coach Lubbock who moves his wife and 8 kids to Texas so he can coach football at an all boys school where his four daughters are the only female students. By the middle of its first season the writers got the bright idea to have the girls get a singing gig at the local pizza joint despite none of the young ladies having any discernible musical talent. Yes, the show is just as bad as it sounds but the Lubbock Babes (their stage name) make the cut due to the presence of Heather Langenkamp, best known as Nancy from the Nightmare on Elm Street movies and one of horror’s best Final Girls. Watching Freddy Krueger‘s nemesis belt out “Unchain My Heart” complete with awkwardly sexy dance moves is a singular thrill.
