#1 – THE PROJECT SUPREMES

This is from the episode of GOOD TIMES where the Evans family’s neighbor Wanda can’t pay her rent and is about to be evicted (from the projects! who gets evicted from the projects?!?!) so the gang throws a rent party in the basement of the projects. Now aside from some killer dance moves by Wanda herself and the tangerrific solo act put on by Michael Florida, Wilona and Thelma did their own version of the Supreme’s “Stop In The Name Of Love” and I don’t know what worked for me the most…Wilona’s sassiness, Thelma’s being so damn extra or Florida’s matronly awkwardness. Ya know it is probably just Florida’s baritone singing voice that really does it for me. She sounds like a young Paul Robeson.
