Best Picture Snub: Inside Llewyn Davis

I honestly don’t get this snub at all. Since the snubbing of THE DARK KNIGHT caused the Oscars to change their own rules and allow up to 10 nominees, I am unsure as to why they only nominated 9 this year leaving INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS off the list. INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS could have been nominated without even having to go through the process of taking away a nomination from another deserving film.
It is an almost universally well reviewed (94% on Rotten tomatoes), it is written and directed by Oscar darlings, The Coen Brothers, and it features a breakout lead performance by Oscar Isaac. Isaac’s performance is just the kind of star turn that the Oscars loves to reward with nominations for not just the actor but for the film that gave him that chance to shine. This is just a total baffler to me.
