Best Actor Snub: Joaquin Phoenix

True, Tom Hanks being left out of the Best Actor list was a very prominent oversight especially when you factor in that he starred in two wildly different films and gave two wildly different performances that were worthy of recognition but Mr. Hanks fell short of being the biggest snub in favor of another actor whose performance I really enjoyed immensely.
If ya didn’t notice I really liked HER and a big part of my enjoyment was because of the performance that Joaquin Phoenix gave. He was in pretty much every frame of this film and spent a lot of it acting all alone opposite a disembodied voice yet his falling in love with his new Operating System never rang false. Phoenix was the emotional heart of this bizarre love story and he owned it with his subtle and quiet performance.
