An enormous and angry 35 foot Great White Shark takes revenge on humans when they build a beach just for swimmers by a coastal town. After several shark attacks, and the Mayor does nothing to stop it, James Franisscus and Vic Morrow sail in pursuit to stop it.
OK this movie, also called THE LAST SHARK, is pretty much a straight rip-off of JAWS (so much so that Universal sued the studio that released GREAT WHITE and won) and really brings nothing new to the killer shark horror movie genre unless you are the type of person who was really jonesing to see what JAWS would have been like with a miniscule budget, no Spielberg, and the crappiest script a truck load of Italian lira could get you.
What endears the movie to me is the casting of Hollywood tough guy character actors James Franciscus and Vic Morrow, the fact that the folks behind this movie tried to pass it off as being part of the JAWS franchise and that it opens with a doomed himbo giving a wind-surfing exhibition to the tune of a snazzy disco song. Plus it was directed by Italian action movie director Enzo Castellari (director of the original INGLORIOUS BASTARDS film) who I am a fan of and who somehow is able to turn shit to sugar with limited resources.
